Wells Addition

The Wells Street Addition is a reflection of the homeowners’ desire to expand their living space and create a home that continues to support their family’s evolving needs. With a clear vision to stay rooted in place, the clients set out to enhance the comfort, functionality, and character of their existing home.

Haven collaborated closely with the owners, both musicians, to design an addition that harmonizes practicality with creativity. A dedicated music room provides space for their piano and instruments, thoughtfully connected to the enlarged primary bedroom through a large pocket door that balances openness and privacy. The reconfigured layout also introduces a spacious primary bathroom with direct access from the bedroom, enhancing everyday comfort and convenience. Extending from the music room, a vaulted sunroom with expansive windows captures views of the serene, tree-lined backyard, flooding the space with natural light.

Throughout the project, Haven emphasized aging-in-place principles and long-term comfort. Every decision, from spatial layout to finish selection, was made to support adaptability and ease of living. The result is a deeply personal and enduring addition that enriches the homeowners’ connection to their home and to each other.
