Perch Custom Home

The Perch custom home is one of six homes on Elon University’s Loy Farm that have been designed to showcase a variety of unique sustainability strategies, including; reduced site impact, lower energy consumption, onsite energy production, responsible water consumption, water filtration, and low carbon footprint.

A structure’s concrete foundation is the single largest carbon-emitting source during construction. The Perch custom home minimizes the amount of concrete by elevating itself on small wooden piers, while providing a common space for students to enjoy rain or shine.

This custom design was brought to fruition by Haven Design|Build’s construction team.
